Mississippi Madness

Oh.....What an AMAZING weekend!
We left on Thursday for Mississippi with 7 degree temperatures! Once we got down there the weather wasn't much better! We arrived at about 6. There's no place like Church Hill Mississippi! I absolutely LOVE my Grandparents house! The smell, the sounds, the feel of the house is and always will be unforgettable!

Friday
it was SO cold we couldn't go out and do anything because it was so cold. So we stayed in and watched 4 Elvis Movies! They were: Blue Hawaii, Girl Happy, Speedway, and Spinout. It was so fun just watching movies with them! I just love my grandparents! Jonathan went hunting and saw 4 doe, but didn't shoot them! That night we left for Rhythm and Blues- I think that was the name-! It was so fun seeing friends that are so dear to us! I had sauteed shrimp and Jonathan had Ribyee! Yum! I just love being in the south! (I don't think I would move back though)

Saturday
Woke up bright and early to NO ELECTRICITY and NO WATER! Also, woke up to the sound of Jonathan and Aaron outside chopping wood in 4 degree weather!! Since we didn't have electricity or water we went to the grooms parents house to take showers and get ready! Thank you Wadsworth Family and the Glenrose Plantation! Hot showers and lights! After showers and makeup we loaded up to go to the wedding. It was at the Washington Methodist Church. The church was but in the mid 1800's and was absolutely beautiful! It was a short wedding then on to the reception! It was a great reception. Seeing my mom and Carolyn dance was priceless! Pictures to come soon!

It was a short weekend and a wonderful ride home!

When we go home on Sunday, after stopping at Costco's, Jonathan and I went for our LONG run! Oh My! I think I experienced a "runner's high". I did 4 miles! It was great! I did so much better than I thought I would do! It was neat just going and doing better each day! I don't say this often, but I am very proud of myself! I can't believe Jonathan and I will be running 13.1 miles in April! Yikes!

Great weekend. Great Family. Great Friends. Mississippi Madness :)

Back to the Grind...RRrrrrr

So it's back to the grind. It's a very hard thing to comprehend, but I was actually excited to see my students. I have the best job and am so blessed. I absolutely love my students and love being around them. Everyday is not good, but they are precious little children that are like little sponges. Love my job!

1/2 Marathon update......9 miles for the week are under my belt! Never would've thought I would be running 9 miles! That is a total calculation, of course! Ive got 2 more days of cross training and then I have my long run of 4 miles. I wish I could run 3 straight miles! Maybe I'll get there! At least I'm doing it! An A for trying!

01-02-2010......turn it around and it's 2010

Can you believe it's January 2nd, 2010? Two weeks off work and nothing accomplished. How did that happen? I wanted to get our computer room cleaned out over the break, but that didn't happen! However, we did get our Christmas decorations put away. Actually, we have to take our Christmas decorations to Jonathan's parents house because we don't have room at our house. We have been taking them there every year since we were married in 2007.

Our home has been on the market for 2.6 years! When we talk about how long it has been on the market it is unbelievable! When I saw the house in 2006 I just had to have it! I had looked at about 50 houses and when I saw this one I knew it was "THE HOUSE"! I know someone out there is going to have the same feeling! There is a reason we haven't sold it though. Some unknown reason! who knows? One day baby! One day baby it will sell! I know this is the year! I have a feeling! (We ate hog jowl, black eyed peas, corn bread and cabbage New Year's Day!)

2010 sure is going to be an amazing year! Let's live it!

NeW yEaR's DaY M-E-N-U......2010

http://gosoutheast.about.com/od/restaurantslocalcuisine/a/blackeyedpeas.htm

Race pictures.......It was an interesting race for a good cause. It was for an 8 year old, JT Lagace. He has cancer and the money went to the family for medical bills. They raised about $2300.00! As I was crossing the finish line a chopper landed right by the finish line in honor of JT. Good race for a good cause.

Let the 1/2 Marathon training begin!

Cheers for a New Year

Cheers for a new year! Day two of "The Chapman Family Blog" is a success! I'm so proud of myself! I actually couldn't wait to get home so I could continue my second day of being a "blogger". Is that the correct term?

It was a wonderful New Year's Eve. Before we left for the night Jonathan and I registered for the Country Music City 1/2 Marathon!! I can't believe it! I'm very nervous! We began the evening with a smorgasbord of sushi from sakura! Yum! Good friends and good food, who could ask for a better night! Then after the stunning sushi we went to the Faulkner's home for a night of games- comedy was included of course! We played whits and wagers....hard game. Jonathan and I won out of 5 couples. Not sure how----lucky guesses! Then it was "Taboo Time"! We played girls against boys. Of course the girls won! I learned that Jonathan is awful at Taboo! It was funny!Did I mention that Jonathan had to work the next day. We had originally said that we were going to leave at 11:00 so he could get in bed, but he asked if we could stay! We ended up leaving at 1:00ish. I couldn't have asked for a better mate and friend. Great Night! Great ending to 2009!

It's 2010......Woke up at 6:00a.m. Sleepy, but awake. Drove to Camden and the Coopers picked us up and it was on to the metropolis of Big Sandy! Race was pretty hilly it was actually my worse race time, but received 2nd place in my age group! Not sure how that happened! Ha! I actually wrote down my time in the age blank. I placed 1st in the 45 age group! I didn't go and accept my award! I was laughing too hard!! After the race we went to the Mexican restaurant and then went home and took a nap with my mom!

Great first day of 2010! I can't wait to see what this year holds for our family! Hopefully it will involve selling our house, me getting a new car, starting to build our new house and adding to our family unit! We'll see what happens!
